We had Miles' 18 month well-care visit at the pediatrician office on Tuesday. He was a little maniac. He's finally tall enough (90th percentile, we discovered) to reach the door knob in the doctor's office . . . so, there was no hope of happily detaining him in that little room while we waited and waited and waited for the doctor to arrive. Then, once the doc finally showed, there was still no hope of keeping him happy. He wanted out - BADLY. A little growling, a little screaming, even some flailing of the arms. I know - you're all likely shocked at this point . . . surprisingly, Miles is not the angel that he has thus far paraded as. :)
Anyway, it's finally time for his shots. He lays on the table, and takes 'em . . . one by one, just staring down the nurse. When we're done he sits up and waves bye-bye as she walks out the door. Scott and I exchange a couple looks of disbelief, get Miles dressed, and finally let him leave that small room. Not a tear or whimper. Keep in mind, this is from the kid who let out a scream last time that the nurse described as the loudest she had ever heard. seriously

Why do they always act the worst possible way at the doctors office. I can remember saying, "I swear, he's not always like this".
Too funny about the shots. What I wouldn't give . . .
Miles we always knew you were a tough little dude. Way to take it like a champ.
sounds enjoyable! Is the spot on his leg from the shots or from him running around like a maniac? Poor guy. We just had the opposite experience this week. Sydney was great for a while, then she got the shots and you would have though someone chopped her legs off! Yeah it was awesome.
the spot is a giant shot welt . . . it has just finally gone away. poor little tough guy
Miles is such a little trooper!
Love ya,
Mom
That is hilarious. I love that he "stared down" the nurse like...'I dare you to scare me!" What a champ.
What a tough guy! Gotta love the doctors office! 90th percential! He is getting so big! The doctor told us that Xander was in the 90th % for height when he was 2 months old. We thought that there was some hope for one of us to be tall, then at his 4 month check they realized that they made a mistake. Ha! Ha!
That is so awesome.....way to go Miles. Emerson, almost 8, was out in the hall sobbing and would not go in the room to get hers....haha
