'Tis the Season~

Well, hello my fellow bloggers and blog followers. I know, pretty ridiculous that a month has gone by without a post. You've all probably been faithfully checking back every week and encountering terrible disappointment each time. Thankfully, your sad days are over. We're back. (hallelujah)

The past few weeks have been delightful. We headed out to Kansas for Thanksgiving to spend some QT with Scottie's fam. Then, we went to Boise the following weekend for my cousin Dave's wedding. Dave is basically like a brother and has been searching for a wifey for the past couple decades . . . so, we had to make the trip to ID to help him get down and celebrate. Each long weekend was fabulous, but we were all delighted to just stay here this weekend. We enjoyed a beautiful Saturday yesterday and got a bunch of Christmas shopping done (go us!).

Anyway, here's the pic of the season. Miles has been ridiculously obsessed with snow ever since he rediscovered it a few weeks ago. I just love his joy, vigor, and playfullness. Oh, and if you ever hear him shout "No!", don't assume that he's displeased. He may simply be expressing his excitement about the cold white stuff (sans the "s" sound, of course).

Splish Splash

Ah, bath time. Miles loves it. And that makes me love it too, because I get a few uninterrupted minutes to get myself ready in the morning . . . and to click a few pics. ;)

Happy Birthday Scottie!!!

Did I mention that today is Scottie's birthday? We headed out to Izakaya Den (Sushi Den's sister restaurant) on Saturday to celebrate. It was awesome. Pricey, but worth it for this extra special occasion. Scott has been talking about the Kobe Beef Sliders ever since . . . mmmmmmm. Personally, I LOVED the spider rolls (which do NOT contain spiders, by the way). Anyway, here's the quick shout-out. Happy Birthday, my love!! You are incredible - thank you for all you do for our little family. I hope you had/have an excellent day.

Little Pumpkin

Scottie got off a bit early on Halloween, so we headed to May Farms for a little down-home fun. The delight of watching Miles grow, learn, and really enjoy holidays just about kills me . . . in a good way. :) We visited the petting zoo, took a hay ride, picked out a cute little pumpkin (since we already had carved a couple big ones), and rode around the farm on a small train. So, here are the pics . . .

Bunch-a-Bubbas

Not much time for commentary this week - I just wanted to quickly post some pics of our red neck Halloween get-up. Watching Miles Trunk-or-Treat for the first time was oh-so-cute. I love my little bubba(s).

Delish Tradish

There were many traditions in my home when I was young - and I LOVED them! Since Miles is quickly growing into a little boy and becoming increasingly aware, I've realized that now is the time to implement more traditions in our little family. The other day, it just hit me that we need to have a special treat for General Conference. The trick is that it had to be delicious and that we could only have it twice a year for conference weekend. Scott and I were watching America's Test Kitchen (love this show) and came across a recipe for Blueberry Scones. So, I gave them a shot . . . Incredible! Not like the traditional English Scones - much lighter, sweeter, and with a crisp sugary crust. Ah, so tasty.
